Coffee and tea containers are complex products since they need special characteristics in for their conservation. They require barrier layers that keep in the product’s aroma and prevent the entry of light, all to guarantee that the end consumer enjoys a product that has maintained the qualities that characterise it. The materials for the packaging of coffee and tea also usually require different degrees of peelability, so all this usually leads to the use of multilayer materials.
The coffee packaging sector is very broad, since there are many options for its packaging packaging due to the variety of products (beans, ground, in capsules, soluble, etc.). Depending on the format, the required packaging will need some or other characteristics. Among the most common coffee containers on the market, we find: Stand up pouches (Doypacks), Flat-bottom, Side-Gusset bags, capsules and Flat pouches (pillow bags).
Regardless of the format of the product, the packaging will have to preserve the aroma and taste, so the barrier layers will be essential for the final quality of the product.
Tea packaging requires very similar qualities to coffee packaging, since the product is of similar characteristics. Tea, just like coffee, needs a barrier layer that prevents the aroma of the product from being lost, and at the same time a barrier layer to prevent external elements such as light from damaging the product.
